This Pool Service Company Has a Huge Opportunity

Hey, guys. Josh Johnson here from Headflood. And today, we’re gonna be doing our business reviews. So, I’ve got a bunch of these flyers come in, you know, on a quarterly basis into my mailbox, and I’m just gonna randomly pick a business, and we’re gonna do ourselves a little review. See what their online presence looks like.

All right. So, I decided to choose this, Precision Pool Builders. Biggest issue right here is they’re sending out all these flyers. They don’t have a website on their flyer. Bad. No, no. The second thing I see here is they might not even have a website, unfortunately. Their Facebook Pool Builders page is coming up first. Okay. Not too bad, I guess. It’s better than having Yellow Pages listing there, right?

This GBP here that you…Google Business, unfortunately, this doesn’t even look like it’s been claimed or optimized. Actually, it does look like they do have an owner there. It’s pulling in some reviews from Facebook. No GBP reviews. It’s very unfortunate. They do have some photos here. It’s a service-only listing. But, yep, that definitely needs some optimization there. But I have no website to look at here. It doesn’t look like there’s a website here because if there was, it would probably be right here.

But at least if you type in their brand name, at least you can get there, at least you can… You know, it appears that there’s some way to call them and contact them. It looks like they have some photos here, so that’s good. They have one photo. But there’s a lack of branding. One of the biggest things when I’m looking at this, and I think I’ll just actually pause this and go back to… 

So, the biggest thing that I look for when I’m researching a brand is, do you show up? And if your website isn’t showing up first, that’s the first issue. The next thing that I’m seeing issue here is I don’t see any logo here. So, anybody could swipe this same brochure, anybody could swipe these photos. They have a secondary logo called Jandy, which is just a product that pool builders use for pumps and things like that.

But, you know, I’m gonna Google, and really there’s no reputation management going on, there’s no consistency with their brand at all. And really, anybody could come in here, honestly, and build their selves a Precision Pool Builders website, optimize it for Precision Pool Builders, and they could rank above everything that’s going on with this particular brand. So, it’s really unfortunate.

This brand’s biggest loss opportunity right now is phase one, which is brand search queries. Where’s your visibility? And I don’t know what they’re doing on Facebook.

I didn’t dive into that. But, hopefully, there are at least postings behind-the-scenes stuff on Facebook and maybe giving those postings a boost into the Northern California area, which is where they design and where they build their pools.

But another thing, too, like from a marketing standpoint, the front of this is, okay, it’s a little bit busy on the bottom. The back is ridiculous. 

They have way too much text on here. And I’d have to probably reverse the camera to have you read it. But, yeah, there’s no real branding here. And so, before, there’s no sense of even stepping into the SEO for this video because there’s no real branding. And so, if I were to talk to Precision Pool Builders owner, I would just tell him, “Listen, you’re missing out on a ton of opportunity. 

And not only that, you’re taking a huge risk because anybody could move in, get a domain and optimize for your brand, and start ranking assets, online assets above everything that you have here.”

As an SEO, I could go register a domain and go build some other listings, some online listings, and do some videos and some images. And within 100 days, I could push this brand all the way off the first page of Google and have my persona brand ranking over his brand. 

So, it’s not good that he or she, they’re not taking advantage of at least brand visibility. So, that’s it for this week. Next week, expect more reviews. And we’re gonna have a party.

So, yeah, this website definitely needs an update. It is sitting on a gold mine. If you have a brand and you’re able to pull in this kind of reviews, my hunch is that their Facebook page is pretty active and they’re probably getting a lot of business off Nextdoor and Yelp. 

You can see just very happy clients. But yeah, I would say for a business like this, you know, they’re getting this many reviews, and it’s obvious to me that they’re not getting a lot of traffic because their website’s not optimized, and there’s just a ton of room here for optimization. 

They only have one page, really two pages, like core service pages, which is fine. It’s in Redding. I doubt that the competitors have mega-big websites.

So, in comparison to…under that assumption, that’s probably fine. They could create some Local Service pages here and do a lot better. They’re sitting on a gold mine. 

A UX update and then a just complete sweep with their structure, their on-page, maybe find some deficiencies in their content versus their competitors, maybe look into their backlinks and see what kind of quality backlinks they have. But this is an obvious gold mine sitting here just ready to rock. 

Any SEO could come in here and just really push their rankings up and really grow their business.
